OSTEOPATHY and CRANIAL OSTEOPATHY

Osteopathy is a patient centred manual therapy that may be helpful in treating conditions such as back pain, neck and shoulder pain, all joint pain, whiplash and soft tissue injury.

Techniques include; soft tissue therapy with manipulation and adjustment; lymphatic drainage; myofascial release, visceral and cranial sacral osteopathy. Pre and post natal mothers may benefit from treatment, as do babies with birth related trauma, colic and disrupted sleep patterns. It has also been shown to help children with learning and behavioural difficulties.

Marcia Hugall is a fully qualified, GOsC registered Osteopath. She is a member of the British Osteopathic Association, and a committee member of the London Osteopathic Society

Simon Grayling BSc (Hons) Ost.

Simon decided to take up Osteopathy following the birth of his first daughter and graduated with a BSc Honours degree from the British School of Osteopathy in 2005. He also holds a Masters degree in Paediatric Osteopathy.

Simon enjoys treating patients of all ages from the very young to the elderly for a wide variety of conditions and using a range of approaches.

He works one day a week as a volunteer osteopath at the renowned Osteopathic Centre for Children. He is fully registered with the General Osteopathic Council.

Simon uses osteopathy / cranial osteopathy to treat adults (including women during pregnancy), children and babies. He is available on Mondays and Thursdays.

Christopther Gaia BSc (Hons) Ost.

Christopher is an experienced Osteopath who has practiced in Balham for many years. You probably already know someone local who has visited him. He has expertise in conventional Osteopathy as well as Cranial Osteopathy and Western Medical Acupuncture. This varied approach enables him to treat a wide range of ailments and a wide range of people, from babies through to the elderly.

Christopher qualified from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003 with an Honours Degree in Osteopathic Medicine, a Diploma in Osteopathy and a Diploma in Naturopathy. He completed Cranial Osteopathy training levels 1, 2 and 3 soon after. He is also qualified to perform Western Medical Acupuncture and has to prescribe orthotics (taylor made shoe inserts to balance the body).

He is currently studying for his Masters in Stress & Pain Management.
