Sports Injuries & Sports Performance

Whether you're involved in recreational or professional sports, from time to time injuries are an inevitable part of athletics. Injuries not only have a negative impact on your performance but they may also cause you discomfort or pain.

The good news is that proper treatment of an injury will facilitate a rapid recovery and return to your normal activities. We may also review your sporting techniques and habits in order to prevent a recurrence of injury.

Your first sports injury assessment will be with a physiotherapist and will last for 45 minutes.

In addition, whilst you are rehabilitating, your therapist may recommend that you do some specialised exercise such as Pilates.

Our sports physiotherapists specialise in prevention, recognition, management and rehabilitation of injuries that result from physical activity. We can also support you to ensure you are in peak performing condition.

If you're out of action with an injury, we can get you on the mend and back in the game quicker.

David Galea BSc(Hons) MSc MCSP

David Galea is a physiotherapist with over ten years experience. He studied at the University of Malta before specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions. He furthered his education in the UK where he attained his MSc in Sports Physiotherapy at the renowned University College of London (UCL). He has diverse experience working in specialised hospitals and private clinics in Harley Street, London and throughout the UK.

He has integrated skill in the application of acupuncture and myofascial release. His special interest has developed in the diagnosis and management of lumbo-pelvic dysfunction, knee and ankle pain.

With a strong passion, David follows the notion 'when health is absent, wisdom cannot reveal itself, art cannot become manifest, strength cannot be exerted, wealth is useless and reason is powerless' (Herophiles, 300 B.C.).

Stephen Hines

Steve is a an experienced sports physiotherapist.

Initially working in the NHS, Steve quickly moved on to be employed as a physiotherapist for Fulham Football Club providing pitch side cover and daily injury rehabilitation to academy and professional players.

Working alongside experienced sports physiotherapists, strength coaches and sports physicians Steve has developed a unique set of skills and insight into elite sports conditioning, nutrition and rehabilitation.
